Where will the Sam Story Line Go?

You know according to the Bible the anti-Christ is not Lucifer, it's more like his hereld. I don't want Sam to be more evil than he has been so far, then he might be lost forever and become the antagonist of the story.

I would love to see hunters and others misunderstand him (like Gordon did) and hunt him.

Jensen Ackles supposedly stated that Sam's blood addiction story line is not over yet. The show starts up again in July, but I doubt there will be info until August.

Trying to convince the non-believer

How to explain Supernatural to the person who has never seen it…..with the hope of converting the unbeliever to the love that is Sam and Dean Winchester

There are two brothers, Sam and Dean, and they love each other more than co-dependently possible. In the very first episode, the older brother Dean goes to Stanford University to locate his little brother Sam because their dad is missing. Dad turns out to be illusive anyway, so what was Dean’s real reason for seeking Sam? Dean hates to be alone. Dean needs family to sustain him. Dean and Sam are two halves to a whole.

The Winchester Yin-Yang developed very early in the show. And that’s the crux of it: two brothers, ordinary men who do a very secretive job…they fight supernatural entities, basically protecting you and me. But as the episodes happened, a mytharc was unveiled. There was more.

Sam and Dean were actually chosen to serve a much higher purpose. First, it was revealed that Sam had some special abilities, he had visions of things to come…bad things, and he had so little control over them that the event usually happened after Sam dreamt of it. Eventually we learn from a demon…a very powerful one with Yellow Eyes…the very one that killed the mother of Sam and Dean….we learn that he HAS PLANS FOR SAM! Dun dun dun….

Oh yeh he has plans and in season two things get kicked up a notch since those plans aren’t of the angelic type. And then Sam dies! Dies in Dean’s arms and Dean (who can not be alone…I did remind you that they are very co-dependent) sells his soul to bring Sam back!

Season 3 we have an increasingly toughened and cold Sam making us wonder if the darkside is in his future and a resolute Dean who is facing Hell. Then Dean DIES! So now the brothers are even!

Season 4 comes along, as do the angels, and the idea that Lucifer wants to be free and suddenly this is no longer a simple story about two brothers who hunt evil supernatural entities. Sam’s powers are back and stronger than ever…Dean suffers PTSD and we learn that there is a prophet of the Lord named Chuck who has foreseen this all!

Is this all destiny or free will? The questions get deeper, the brothers get angstier and Lucifer is about ready to walk free. Then there is the finale and Sam and demon blood drinking… and OMG he didn’t ….and Dean is banging on the door to get in because he must save Sam (from himself) then Sam kills Lillith and the seal breaks and Dean gets in but it is TOO LATE BABY and it was all prophesy and is there even a reason to bother with free will and oh noes!

The white light! Lucifer is coming!

And THAT is why you should watch Supernatural.

Sam's gone full on darkside but his brother still loves him

Maybe Obi-Wan could have been less judgemental. It's not like Dean isn't judgemental, just something Bobby said got to im and he is willing to still love his brother.

When the Levee Breaks

Supernatural is the story of two brothers who have very little in this world but each other and a work ethic that includes puting the safety of others first. Unfortuntely the youngest brother Sam was infected with demon blood as a baby thus involving the whole family in matters much larger than themselves.

Sam and his older brother Dean fight monsters, but things change once Dean goes to Hell and comes back 4 months later. Ideologies change...loyalities change. Angels get involved and before you know it......the brothers divorce.

Their relationship is so co-dependent that their split ideologies make for discord which leads to the epic fight in 4.21 "When the Levee Breaks".

Mom thinks Sam is Evil

This is truly sad. My mom is as much a Sam girl as myself, but today I asked her: "Do you think Sam is evil?" And she said yes. She thought what he was doing was going to corrupt him and bring him to a bad end. She is also concerned that Dean will fall to evil.

This is my mom who couldn't stand to watch Sam in BUABS. She's usually right on target with her thoughts about the boys! :(

Sam's actions thus far have not been evil. He only uses his powers against demons. He's never harmed a human. He was reluctant to use the blood until after CAIADB when he couldn't stand the thought of Dean having to fight forever.

I like the complexity of having Sam fall to the darkside, but it is still very sad.

Crawling in the Dark Looking for the Answers

Fictional stories of great people usually start with the average guy who turns out to be something special. Even if the story doesn't follow the typical heroes journey, we rarely read stories about the day in the life of the average man, cos that would be boring.

Not that are lives are boring, but even in our daily blogs we post the more note-worthy moments. That's just the nature of humans. We seek stimulation.

Supernatural has brought me more than my fair share! The following is yet another speculation based on the last episode i watched called "Monster at the End of This Book."

What we now know:

• Chuck (the writer) is a prophet


• There is a future in which the Winchester name is remembered


• Lillith does not survive to the end of the tale


• Dean is learning to have faith despite having to accept fate


• Sam can't defeat Lillith, nor can she take him


• Chuck's visions began in 2005 when Sam and Dean reunited

I have long said the boys are two halves to a whole. Chuck's visions began with their reuniting and have continued. His legitimacy is now show canon and thus if the Lord is sending him messages about Sam and Dean you can bet the Lord has had plans for the boys all along, it's just taken awhile for these things to come into play. Remember, Jesus didn't start his work until he was nearing 30, what was he up to before that?

Most heroes start out having the average life...then things get complicated.

The show gave us the concept of GRACE. I think Lucifer will rise (because I think Lillith is the final seal) and he will be human, but he won't be at full power because he will be missing his grace. I still think his grace is stored in both Sam and Dean. Dean holds the heavenly grace and Sam the earthly. With Sam's he can rule terrestrial realms and with Dean's he can rule celestially. Think about it, he wants it all, but has to get it from them.

The apocalypse is not Lucifer rising, it's him taking power and destroying everything as we know it.

Lillith wanted Sam to sign over both himself and Dean...a pair! Why? Her deal could have freed them up for Lucifer to take what he needed, namely his grace. So Lillith ends herself, opens the seal, Lucifer gets the Winchesters.

3rd brother? He's not of Mary's blood...the power the boys hold was given to them by their mother. The grace they hold safely.

Bloody ***in HOT !

I knew when I chose Sam Winchester as one of my bad boys I did not go wrong! In episode 4.16 "Head of a Pin" Sam drinks Ruby's demon blood to help add to his powers. That might have been hot enough, but in the next scene we see visual proof thatthe blood changes him as his eyes go from light to black!

And finally! OMG! Sammy shows us he's gotthe Force..and it's looking more like the hand of Vader everyday, because Sam can not only use TK and compulsion. He not only can exorcise....he can KILL WITH HIS BRAIN!

Yet, despite the fist of Vader (Sam, uh did you watch Star Wars)? I really wonder if Sam's powers are more angelic in nature and are only being corrupted due to outside influences (angels, Ruby and Dean's fear).

After "It's a Terrible Life" I think that Dean denied Sam and I think that will show up later this season. I have a bad feeling Dean will deny Sam and send him away or break them apart.

So I will wildly speculate:

My personal fav title is when the levee breaks...I'm actually listening to it at the moment. I picture a really pissed looking Sam driving (notice he always looks pissed while driving)?

Here's the specualation:

4.18 Either an angel or the trickster made this odd book series happen. And/or Dean learns he's been wrong all along, there is fate and he can't change it. I don't believe the spoiler that Sam would sell off Dean's soul to Lillith. No, but his own, oh yeh. My spoils for this one are making it hard to guess, best wait out Thursday.

4.19 The brother is real and he is tainted by the Supernatural. He can't go back to normal (like Madison the werewold) and the brothers fight over killing him. Sam and Dean part here.

4.20 We see Castiel's life and the havoc Lillith is rendering. I think the boys will be apart.

4.21 It's gonna be ugly. This is the intervention episode. I don't think Bobby and Dean are going to succeed. I can only imagine what other powers Sammy has up his sleeve! Squee!!!!

4.22 Last seal???? Lucifer actually walks? IDK. But I'm leaning towards Sam being carved into the perfect instrument to defeat him, except I don't think it'll happen this season. I can picture Sam getting badly hurt (eventually they need to pander to those who kink hurt!Sam) and fighting Lucifer could be and should be extremely difficult. So Sam's in the hospital and DEan goes back to the room, but there is no Sam. He's disappeared! Where too, and how? IDK...works for me as a cliffie and you know this cliffie will be HUGE!

So that's my thoughts for now.

Review of Deathwish by Rob Thurman

You see I believe in serendipidy, that's why I found this book. I was walking past it at Borders and I saw the cover. I stopped, pulled it out...loved the story. Two weeks later I went back a and bought it. Now onto the 4th book:

I’ve come to love the Leandros brothers. They are second in my heart only to Sam and Dean. Why do I love Cal and Niko? They are loyal to each other and those in their circle. They fight the demons without and within. They are fallible, they want to live in peace and will never find it. But they keep on trying.

I love messages of hope, I always have. Though I think it more likely this is about fighting the evil within yourself and staying true to your ideals more than anything.

And wow! In this novel Cal is really coming into his own as a monster. Cal has always identified with being human, but in this fourth book he is beginning to doubt the strength of his humanity. And when he discovers he’s wanted as an Auphe breeding machine he realizes he is truly the last male Auphe. The novel ends with it seeming that the Auphe have disappeared ads a threat, but this remains to be seen in future books.

The tension level is definitely lower. Yes, it’s kinda given that our delightful brothers aren’t going to die any time soon. Still, they go through all levels of angst and suffering. Especially Niko, who we now see as a little more human and a little more vulnerable. Niko realizes he will probably have to concede that little bro can handle himself.

There’s a little romance: Niko and his vampire lover Promise. Cal has a dalliance with weregirl, and Robin, our darling puck gets it on with his peri! Yay for the joy of love! For in this universe love might not last long.

I love the grayness of this series, and really, when your protagonist could be the embodiment of evil but choose s not to be…..that is grey and I like the idea that there are monsters human and inhuman. I really can’t wait for more!

Secrets

After going through the seasons with my mom, I realized we are the omniscient viewers of Seasons 1-3. As I sat there and explained: "At this time Dean had not yet revealed to Sam what his father told him." I knew that if I had watched the show in real time I might have wondered and guessed about the secret whisper from John to Dean.

So what were the past secrets? What possible secrets are we in the dark about now?

Things we never knew at the time the season was unfolding:

Sam was a psychic kid

YED had plans for psychic kids
Dad knew this
There were generations of psychics

Season 2

Dad told Dean: “save him or kill him”
YED wanted one leader
YED had multiple generations
YED fed Sammy blood

YED was Azazel who wanted Sam to lead and talked about it in hell
Sammy and Ruby had secret meetings

Ruby and Sam have secret meetings
Sam does something naughty to power up
Castiel must follow Dean’s orders

I always love this old question:

How many things exist because we believe in them?


My huge point of speculation, b/c I've noticed, not only do Sam's powers freak Dean out, but anytime demons or the powers are involoved Dean gets edgy, mean, and quarrelsome. And that's all it's been for almost every episode this season.

Is Dean’s tension with Sam due to all those horrible things he heard about him in Hell?

What are the other secrets we as an audience have not yet had revealed to us?

A Sam for All Seasons

I tried to find the look that defined Sam each season. Season 3 was the most difficult since he wasn't very happy. And while Sam had taken to wearing a suit quite a bit in season 3, it's been a constant this season. So I chose to represent season 4 with a suit and tie look for Sam.

Season One "HellHouse" Sam getting pranked on.

The hair stylists had a particularly good day with Sam's bangs in this episode. He was still affecting the innocent charm, the dimples and the puppy. Of course this is also the episode where we see Sam shirtless for the first time!

Not quite the innocent little brother after all! Wow!

Season Two "Heart"

Sam in a dark shirt. "Nuff said! Sam gets to play normal man and flirt with Madison. Too bad, she wasn't the normal one. Lots of great shots of Sam looking all uncomfortable as a beautiful strong woman comes on to him.

This episode also being a shirtless one in which we learned that sex unleashes Sam's inner demon (in a good way).

Season Three "Supernatural Christmas"

This one was tough to choose. This wasn't the season for gratuitous sex or shirtlessness. Sam didn't get lucky, but he was followed around by his fallen angel Ruby.

Season Four "Sex and Violence"

Sam's back makes yet another appearence this season when he is seduced by another hot sexy dark haired woman who knows what she wants out of life.

No more innocence, no more mr. nice guy, no holding back for Sam now.

"Jillian" by Within Temptation

This is a rather haunting song. Fits both Sam and Dean, heck fits Kyp, fits Zekk, and all the damned vampires who want redemption. So here it is:

Sex and Violence: The Kids Aren't All Right

They’re so not all right, and Bobby knew this as he left them by that bridge that they can not cross over. Don’t be hard on Bobby. He’s neither their father nor a couples therapist. He’s their friend, and though more a mentor than a peer within the hunting community, he knows you won’t get far trying to boss around a Winchester. And Bobby wasn’t there to hear what Sam said. He doesn’t know the half of it, because Bobby also doesn’t know Sam Winchester has demon blood and wields the Hand of Ipecac.

Sam has been so silent this season everyone figured Kripke had it out for him, but I held fast to the belief his silence spoke volumes. And now we know. Now we know more than we wanted to know about just what Sam is thinking.

I don’t care if Sam tries to use the excuse he was under a spell when he told Dean those hurtful things, because that’s BS. Those words were spoken from his subconscious and they were real.

The siren planted a hyacinth at the scene. In the language of flowers, the hyacinth is the symbol of sincerity.

Sam was the most honest in this episode since early season two. Still, it seems honesty is not the best policy and all those times Sam has had no response to Dean it is understandable. Better to say nothing than to say the wrong thing. But when Sam lets it all out: watch out. I think of what he said in two parts. First off there is the whole, I’m better-stronger-smarter than you comment. To me, that was a testosterone filled sibling rivalry comment. Sam has always been competitive and strives to be his best at whatever he does. It would be natural for him to think he was superior to Dean. In HS I’m sure he felt his academics gave him an edge, later once he considered himself a hunter he naturally wanted to be top of the game there too.

It’s the second comment that was more barbed: “You’re holding me back.” It’s like saying he doesn’t need Dean at all. And that’s one of Dean’s deepest fears, the fear that causes him to project an entirely different Sammy onto the man Sam is now. In “Metamorphosis” Dean spoke his fear: “You don’t need me. You and Ruby go fight demons.”

Sadly, that’s exactly what they were doing and doing well until Dean showed up. Again, in Sex and Violence, Sam reminds Dean he doesn’t need him. He and Ruby will find Lillith. Dean isn’t strong enough for the fight. Part of this could be Sam’s new found protective instinct over Dean. It’s an instinct of a big brother who considers the other lesser or weaker and in need of protection. Sam has demonstrated this all season and Dean has fed that need from nearly being eaten by the Rugaru in Meta, to his capture in MM, to his nightmares, the drinking, his paranoid collapse in YF, his beating at Alastair’s hand. Sam has been there to save his ass.

But the whole: “So you tortured souls, boo-hoo!” Holy crap Sam, what a bastard!

Which makes me think of the Foreigner song: “Cold as Ice”

That would be Sam. Cold as Ice. And much of it is protective instinct. He wants to not be hurt, not be rejected.

So even if the siren’s venom made Sam think the thoughts he did, what planted them? Do his “power-up” sessions with Ruby stir the demon blood and make him more mean, more cruel or spiteful? More like a demon? Beware when you fight the monsters, lest you become one of them.

Is that why Dean was so eager to point out to Sam that he slept with monsters…meaning you are one: I’d hunt you. Remember that was sincerity without the venom.

Oh Sammy!

I've been neglecting my thinky thoughts lately. In the last episode: "Criss Angel is a Douchebag", Sam and Ruby have a little talk. [Well it's more like a bitchiness fest...but let's not nit-pick, shall we]?

See, there's something Sam has to do to sort of up his game, and it's not just practice by exorcising more demons, it's like that's good Sam, but we need you better. Here, try this shot of steroids!

And Sam doesn't want to dope up...but in the end of the episode he makes the decision to do so to help Dean. The episode focused on whether it's better to burn out or fade away. Or if you can choose option 3 and grow old gracefully. Appearently this is the ending Sammy's hoping for, but you kinda think in the end it's the ending he hopes to give his brother. For Sam, it looks like full martyrdom to the cause of ending Lillith and saving the world.

All too exciting if you ask me!

An Early Look at the the Deliciousness that is Zekk

Oh, please, just call him the master already. Look at this dude! Ok, seriously crappy Obi Wan clothes aside, this is a hot man. And look: He's got two hot women in the picture with him!

All I can say is they better be the Hapan twins and this boy better get some action!

Hope he's a bit dirty and a little dark too! That be a plus. The book was due in the spring, but got moved to winter due to some SW bullshit they were slinging about the author not being done. Yeh, right! SW is cool and sucks at the same time.

Still, the book holds delicious promise.
